East End woman kills friend's husband
(CMR) A 31-year-old Caymanian woman is now in police custody after a stabbing on Prospect Drive, George Town, on the night of 18 September, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) said. CMR exclusive sources confirmed that Sherrell Jackson of East End was arrested at the scene and remains in custody while police continue their investigation. CMR has learned that the man who died is Tyron Burrell, 26, of Kingston, Jamaica, who attended Lacovia High School. Sources said a dispute arose over his wife going out with Jackson for the evening. The incident then turned deadly and just after 9:30 pm, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 911 Communications Centre to a report of a stabbing. Police said it was reported that a man and a woman were arguing when the woman allegedly stabbed the man with a knife. People at the scene tried to save his life until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived and continued those efforts. He was taken by ambulance to the Anthony S. Eden Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by the attending doctor. Jackson has not yet been charged. Police said the incident is being investigated and a Major Incident Room has been activated. Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Incident Room at 649-2930. Anonymous tips can be given to the RCIPS Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777 or through the RCIPS website, the Cayman Crime Stoppers website, or the app.
