High-profile dairy family killed in Queensland plane crash
Barambah Organics founder Ian Campbell and daughter Hannah have been identified as the victims of a light plane crash southwest of Brisbane on Monday. Witnesses to a tragic light plane crash that killed dairy company founder Ian Campbell and his daughter Hannah, heard the aircraft’s engine “spluttering or running rough” before it came down in a paddock near Brisbane. Mr Campbell, 56, founded Barambah Organics in 2002 alongside wife Jane and still part-owned the company. Mr Campbell and 23-year-old Hannah were on board a Beech A36 Bonanza that took off from Archerfield Airport just before 11am on Monday. Emergency services received multiple triple-0 calls and when they arrived first responders were unable to get to the wreckage because of fire. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is investigating, and said a number of witnesses had come forward to say the aircraft’s engine sounded like it was running rough or spluttering which was “important information”.
