The Movement expressed appreciation for the completion and commissioning of the Paga SHS E-Block on August 13, 2026, describing the development as a significant step towards improving teaching and learning in the school. In a press release signed by Mr Wenawome Duriyem Aborah, Chairman of PAYOM, the Movement also welcomed the government’s commitment to grant Paga SHS full boarding status from the next academic year in 2027. It said the planned construction of girls’ and boys’ dormitory blocks and the provision of a 60-seater school bus would enhance the school’s capacity and improve conditions for students. The statement said the Movement had consistently advocated the completion of the E-Block, the granting of full boarding status to the school and the reconstruction of the girls’ dormitory, which was destroyed by fire in 2021. The statement also commended the government for its commitment to addressing the persistent water challenges in Paga and surrounding communities, completing the agenda 111 hospital project and reconstructing the collapsed Navio bridge.
