Four Elected Officials in Bhojpur Asked for Clarification by Communist Party
The Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Bhojpur has asked for a seven-day clarification from four elected officials, including Ramprasadrai Rural Municipality Chairman Thambadur Rai, on charges of engaging in anti-party activities. Ramprasadrai Rural Municipality Chairman Thambadur Rai, Ward Chairman Jiramani Rai of Bhojpur Municipality-1, Ward Chairman Nabharaj Rai of Temkemayung Rural Municipality-9, and Ward Chairman Sangdemba Rai of Shadananda Municipality-3 have been asked for clarification. The district committee of the party has sought clarification from them. The letter signed by District Committee Convener Sharan Kumar Tamang (Rabin) accused them of making statements on social media against the party and voters, not attending party meetings and programs, participating in the propaganda and secret meetings of other political parties, and helping another party defeat their own party's candidate in the February elections. Sources indicate that all four are preparing to leave the party and join the Labor Culture Party. Ramprasadrai Rural Municipality Chairman Thambadur Rai, who was asked for clarification, stated that upon studying the clarification letter received on Bhadra 14, the issues mentioned, the accusations made, and the clarification process did not appear to be in accordance with the party's constitution, methods, and established organizational procedures. Chairman Rai claimed that the accusations against him were not based on facts, evidence, and reality. Convener Tamang stated that mere accusations are not enough and that supporting facts and evidence must also be presented.
