How we check our products

What happens to every file before it goes on sale, and what we do not claim

We would rather show you how a file is checked than ask you to trust a promise. This is what happens to every Plainwork file before it goes on sale, and what we do not claim.

What we check

  • The file opens. An automated test opens every file inside the download, the spreadsheets, the PDFs and the README.
  • The formulas calculate. Spreadsheets are recalculated in a spreadsheet engine. The test fails if any cell shows an error such as #REF!, #VALUE!, #DIV/0! or #NAME?.
  • The totals are right. Key totals in the example data are compared with the same numbers worked out separately in code. If they differ, the file is not published.
  • The links work. Printable planners promise tapping and jumping between pages. The test counts the pages and follows the internal links.
  • The contents match the page. Each product follows a written contract: what is inside, which software it needs, a free preview, a licence and a README. The product page is written from that list.
  • Prices are one number. The price on the page is the price on the order page, and it includes Danish VAT.

What we do not claim

  • The checks cannot prove a file is right for your own numbers or your own situation. The files are tools for planning and tracking. They are not financial, legal or medical advice.
  • Spreadsheets are built for Microsoft Excel 2016 or newer and open in Google Sheets and LibreOffice. They avoid macros, so they open safely.
  • We have no customer reviews to show you yet, and we do not invent any.

Where the questions come from

The free exam pages at /exam/ credit the book each question comes from and its licence. A question is shown only after its source licence and answer key have been looked at; questions that failed that check are not shown.
