HiddenCookies and local storage
One sign-in cookie, nothing else
Short version: we set one cookie, only on NurseSim, only to keep you signed in. Everything else stays on your own device and never reaches us.
Cookies we set
- NurseSim sign-in cookie (/nurse/): keeps you signed in after you enter the code we email you. It is needed for the service, so it needs no consent banner. It ends when you sign out or it expires.
That is the only cookie. This website, the podcasts page, the shop and the free tools set no cookies of their own.
Storage in your browser (not cookies, never sent to us)
- Theme (light or dark) and sound on/off: so the site remembers your choice.
- Study record in the free NurseSim mode and in HiddenWay Tools: kept on your device so you can continue later.
You can clear all of this in your browser settings at any time; the site still works, it just forgets your choices.
Counting visits
We count visits with GoatCounter, which sets no cookies and stores no personal data. We also count anonymous clicks on buttons (for example which start path was chosen). Search words you type are never sent.
Embedded video
Videos play from youtube-nocookie.com. YouTube sets nothing until you press play; after that YouTube's own policy applies. Card payments use Stripe's own page, which has its own cookies.
